Monthly client documents shouldn’t get lost in email threads.
Monthpost gives accounting firms one clear place to organize clients.
Publish document packs and notify the right contact.
Clients open their workspace, find exactly what they need and download everything in one click.
Monthpost. Month-end, without the back-and-forth.
Categories keep every document consistent across your firm.
Open Categories, give the new category a clear name, and select Add category.
It becomes available immediately whenever you upload or edit a document.
Need to change the wording? Open the category, update its name, and save.
Existing documents keep the category automatically, so your client library stays organized without extra work.
Here’s how to add a client and their primary contact.
From Clients, select Add client.
Enter the client’s name and any business details you want to keep with the record, then save.
On the client page, select Add user. Enter the person’s email and contact details, then review access before anything changes.
Monthpost shows exactly what this permission means: the user can see all current and future Published packages, while Drafts remain private.
Confirm Add access. The first user becomes the primary contact automatically, so package notifications have a clear recipient.
You can change that contact later as the client team grows.
Here’s how to create a private client package in Monthpost.
Open the client and select New package.
Choose individual files, or upload an entire folder.
Set one default category and period, then apply them to every file.
Each document can still be adjusted before you continue.
Give the package a clear name and confirm its period.
Keep it as a Draft while you review it. Draft packages stay hidden from client users.
Select Create package, and Monthpost saves everything together in the client workspace.
Publish it when it’s ready.
Publishing and emailing are two separate choices in Monthpost.
Start from the Draft package and select Publish package.
The confirmation shows who will gain access and reminds you that publishing sends no email. Confirm when the files are ready.
The package is now visible to linked client users and marked Not notified.
Select Send package email, then confirm the primary contact shown in the prompt.
Monthpost queues the message. Once delivery completes, the status changes to Email sent.
That separation lets you publish first, double-check the client view, and notify only when you choose.
When a Published package changes, Monthpost keeps the follow-up clear.
Open a document, make the correction, and save it.
The change is visible to the client immediately, but no email is sent automatically.
Back on the package, the status now says Updated since notification.
Select Send update email and confirm the primary contact.
Monthpost sends a distinct update message.
When delivery completes, the package returns to Email sent, so nothing is left ambiguous.
To handle several pending emails together, open Clients and select Review notifications.
Monthpost separates packages that are ready from clients who still need a primary contact.
For every ready item, you can see the package, whether it needs a package or update email, and the exact recipient.
Review the list, then select Send emails and confirm the batch.
Monthpost queues only the ready messages. Clients without a primary contact stay visible below and are never included by accident.
After the batch completes, the review is clear and your notification queue is up to date.
Here’s the workspace your client sees.
After signing in, they see only the companies they can access. Open a company to view its Published packages. Draft packages never appear here.
Inside a package, every document has a clear title, category, period, and file name.
The client can download one document, or choose Download all for a complete ZIP.
They do not see your firm’s admin controls, internal notes, or unpublished work.
It is a focused, private place for the files you have intentionally shared with them.
Monthpost also shows what happened after you shared a package.
Open the package and scroll to Client activity.
Package views show each client user’s first and latest visit.
Downloads list every individual file and full-package ZIP request, with the user, filename, and time.
This gives your team a practical audit trail without asking the client whether they opened the link.
Publication and notification history stay on the same page, so the full package lifecycle is easy to follow.
